General Terms & Conditions
These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter GTC) set out the terms for using the online service (hereinafter webshop) available on the website www.rootscatering.hu, operated by Roots Catering Kft.
The website www.rootscatering.hu presents products sold by Roots Catering Kft. online. Customers visiting the site can purchase selected products through the webshop, and Roots Catering Kft. ensures the delivery of the selected products to the address provided by the customer.
Only natural persons who are at least 18 years old (consumers or non-consumer persons) and companies not classified as wholesalers are eligible to use the webshop service on www.rootscatering.hu. By placing an order on www.rootscatering.hu, the Customer accepts the GTC, the data management information, and consents to the processing of their data in accordance with the rules set out in the data management information by Roots Catering Kft., and declares that they are aware of the technical requirements of the purchase and that placing the order entails a payment obligation.
Orders can be placed in the webshop as a registered user or as a guest. To make future orders more convenient, registration is recommended before placing the first order.
Registration
During registration, the Customer must provide accurate information corresponding to reality.
Roots Catering Kft. does not verify the accuracy of the data provided. Please always check your data before confirming registration. The Customer is responsible for any damage arising from failure to report changes or from providing false or incorrect information, and must pay any additional costs resulting from failure to report changes to Roots Catering Kft. Any changes to billing or delivery data must be reported at the latest when placing a new order. Changes can be reported via email to info@rootscatering.hu, by phone (+36 20 387 5900), or in a note when placing the order.
Registration process
During registration, the Customer must provide a password of at least 9 characters, including uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
The Customer may not share their password with third parties and is responsible for keeping it secure. Roots Catering Kft. excludes all liability if an unauthorized person gains access to the Customer's account and makes purchases. The Customer must immediately change the password if unauthorized account use is suspected. If the Customer forgets their password, a new one can be set upon request.
A natural person registered through registration acts in their own name or on behalf of a legal entity, company, or organization.
Scope of the GTC
These GTC take effect upon publication on www.rootscatering.hu. Roots Catering Kft. reserves the right to modify the GTC at any time and undertakes to publish the modification on the website in a way that draws the attention of Customers logging into the webshop. Customers accept the modified GTC by placing a new order on the webshop after the modification. If a significant provision of the GTC is changed, Roots Catering Kft. will inform Customers by email sent to the address provided at registration. These terms are considered accepted when a repeated order is placed via the webshop.
Matters not regulated in these GTC are governed by Act V of 2013 on the Civil Code, current laws regulating commercial activity, and consumer rights.
Information on handling the data provided during registration, such as name, address, phone number, and email address, is available in the data management information on www.rootscatering.hu.
Order Process
Products on the website are divided into main and subcategories. Clicking on a main category shows the subcategories, and from there, individual product pages are accessible, displaying images, descriptions, and additional information. Filters within categories allow sorting products by various criteria. Keywords can also be used in the search function.
Roots Catering Kft. provides product descriptions for information purposes, including minimum order quantity and price. Prices are displayed in Hungarian forints as gross consumer prices. Images are for illustration purposes only; the delivered product may differ. If multiple products appear in an image, it is illustrative, and unless stated otherwise, each order is for one product only.
In case of temporary stock shortage, the product may be replaced by one of equivalent quality, price, and type, with the Customer notified by email or phone. If no response is received within 2 days, the replacement occurs regardless.
Roots Catering Kft. reserves the right to change prices. Price changes take effect when updated on the website. Orders placed after this are subject to the new price. Price changes after order confirmation are only allowed if justified by law (e.g., tax changes).
If due to a system error or other cause a clearly incorrect price is shown, Roots Catering Kft. is not obliged to fulfill the order at that price. The Customer will be informed and offered the option to purchase at the correct price or cancel without consequences.
Submitting an Order

Add to cart and order
The Customer selects products by clicking the “Add to cart” button. Products in the cart can be viewed anytime in the right menu. Additional purchases can be made by closing the cart. -
Provide billing information
Enter your name, address (for company orders, check “Company billing”), email if not registered, and any other billing details. If the delivery address differs, provide it under “Ship to another address?” The invoice is emailed after order confirmation. -
Choose delivery date and payment method
Check order contents and modify if necessary. Specify desired delivery date (subject to shipping deadlines). Choose a payment method: online card payment, direct bank transfer, or cash on delivery. Bank transfer details will be emailed.
Once the order is submitted via the “Submit Order” button, it is binding. Customers accept the GTC and acknowledge their obligations.
Order Confirmation
An email confirmation is sent within 48 hours of placing the order, including order number, products, and details. If no issues are reported within 48 hours, this email is considered confirmation. If changes are made, a new confirmation email will be sent. If no confirmation is received, check your spam folder or contact us. The contract is established upon confirmation.
Delivery
Orders are delivered after payment is credited to Roots Catering Kft. account. If the payment is not credited by the delivery date, Customer service will contact the Customer. Roots Catering Kft. is not responsible for delays due to incorrect payment details or inaccessible Customers.
The Customer must ensure the delivery address is clearly identifiable and safely accessible, with someone available to receive the order. Delivery times are estimated; delays beyond our control are not our responsibility.
Perishable products are guaranteed for quality if received within 3 hours of delivery.
Cookies
The website uses cookies, which can be disabled but are necessary for full functionality.
Withdrawal
No withdrawal is allowed for perishable products under Government Decree 45/2014 §29(1)d.
Guarantee and Complaints
Roots Catering Kft. guarantees product quality and intact delivery. Perishable items are guaranteed if delivered within 3 hours. Customers must inspect delivered products on receipt and report issues within 24 hours with documentation. Quantity discrepancies must be reported immediately.
Force Majeure
Extraordinary events outside the parties’ control (e.g., strikes, war, natural disasters, epidemics) relieve both parties from performance obligations. Parties must notify each other within 1 working day.
Complaints
Defective products may be rejected upon receipt. Complaints can be submitted via phone, email, or post. If unresolved immediately, a response is given within 30 days. Customers may seek resolution through the conciliation body.
